Ahmadu H. Sambo, CPA
Co-founder and Managing Principal

Ahmadu Hamman Sambo, CPA, a founding principal, has been with Sambo Onos & Company, LLC and its predecessor, since 1994. Prior to 1994, Mr. Sambo was employed for seven years with a regional certified public accounting firm in Boston, where, as an Audit Manager, he managed a wide range of commercial and not-for-profit engagements including financial and compliance audits under OMB Circular A-133 and MHD, EPA, HUD, MHFA and UFR audits as well as overhead rates in accordance with FAR.

Mr. Sambo currently oversees the firm's Professional Accounting Service division, bringing to that position more than 12 years of experience in:
  • Financial audits
  • Compliance audits, including Yellow Book, UFR and single audit
  • Review and compilation of financial statements
  • Agreed upon procedures and attestations, such as indirect cost rate audits, cost certification and tax credits
  • Business plans and valuation, including market research and development
  • Syndication, loan financing and funding proposals
  • Debt/equity restructuring, including purchase and sale of businesses
  • Internal accounting and administrative control

Mr. Sambo obtained an MBA in accounting and finance from New Hampshire College in 1984. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from University of Maiduguri, Nigeria in 1981. He is licensed to practice in Massachusetts and New Hampshire and he is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Massachusetts Society of CPAs.

Emmanuel O. Onos, CPA
Co-founder and Senior Principal

Emmanuel Oghene Onos established an accounting practice in Boston, in 1990, at the age of 32 and quickly became well-known in the Greater Boston Area for his effectiveness in honing and harnessing the entrepreneurial instincts of business owners and managers to the necessary technical knowledge and skills in providing quality goods and services that meet customers' needs at a profit. Because of his strong reputation for resourcefulness and managerial excellence, in 1996, he was induced by a client to serve as the CFO and COO for a group of privately owned businesses that employed over 150 persons with annual revenues of well over $8 million for a two-year period, before co-founding Sambo Onos & Company, LLC.

Mr. Onos currently oversees the firm's Business Advisory Services division, bringing to that position more than 13 years of experience in:
  • Translating Organization's big picture into strategic actions and operational processes
  • Business plans and valuation, including market research and development
  • Syndication, loan financing and funding proposals
  • Debt/equity restructuring, including purchase and sale of businesses
  • Internal accounting and administrative control
  • Financial audits, compliance audits and tax preparation
  • Client interest representation before third parties
  • Financial planning, including tax, retirement and estate planning

He is a summa cum laude graduate of University of Maiduguri, Nigeria, in 1981 and earned his MBA from Northeastern University in 1986. In 1985, he received the Massachusetts Society of CPA's Certificate of Achievement Award for passing the National Uniform CPA Examination at the first sitting in 1984. He is licensed to practice in Massachusetts and is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Massachusetts Society of CPAs, as well as a Patron of the Academy of American Poets.
